The church was built by German priest Adolphe Keller and the parishioners of Cai Be between 1929 and 1932. Cai Be Church features Western Roman architectural style, made of reinforced concrete, and despite the passage of time, it has retained its graceful and ancient beauty.

The church’s layout is in the shape of a cross with two very balanced transverse wings, comprising a main nave and two side naves within a spacious and cool campus. Viewed from above, the church appears as a giant cross amidst the green trees and peaceful villages.

The bell tower houses a set of four large bells, cast in France in 1931, with advanced bell pendulum and suspension technology. The bell system of Cai Be Church surpasses that of Notre Dame Cathedral in Saigon in terms of pendulum design. At the base of the bell tower is a large water tank to amplify the sound of the bells. The church bells emit sounds of peace, serenity, and holiness, evoking feelings of charity and joy in people’s hearts.

The exterior of the church features elaborate and impressive decorative patterns and reliefs. On both side gates of the main facade, there are vine-patterned reliefs. The altar is meticulously detailed, with the design and installation of numerous windows cleverly allowing outside light to illuminate the interior.

The high dome is segmented with simple yet elegant patterns. The splendid interior includes paintings arranged respectfully within the church. Stained glass windows not only light up the sanctuary but also add unique aesthetic value, creating a sacred space for believers to pray.

The main door, windows, and the ornate designs on the canopy above the side doors are intricately crafted. The roof edges harmonize beautifully with the window designs.

Every detail is meticulously polished and aesthetically rich. All elements are seamlessly and elegantly combined, exuding a solemn and majestic ambiance.

The church has five altars made of precious marble and a beautiful set of stained glass windows. Upon entering the church, visitors will feel the highly aesthetic design, with pews neatly arranged on either side of the aisle.
